The Press and Journal, the UK’s biggest-selling regional daily newspaper, is on the hunt for trainee multimedia journalists to join its award-winning team.

As part of DCT Media, we can offer the successful candidates unrivalled opportunities in print, digital and radio journalism. DCT-owned radio station Original 106 broadcasts live from our Marischal Square HQ in the heart of Aberdeen, Europe’s oil and gas capital which also has a growing reputation for being at the forefront of the renewable energy industry. We produce four distinct regionalised editions of the newspaper six days a week and have offices across the Grampian and Highland regions.


We currently have vacancies for trainee multimedia journalists in Aberdeen, Elgin and Peterhead and want to hear from talented individuals with the ambition and motivation to carve-out a career in journalism.
The successful candidates will be self-starters with a burning desire to bring in their own exclusives and unearth the stories that really matter to our audience. They will also have an obsessive attention to detail and an ability to build their own contacts and turn their hand to all aspects of news reporting. A driving license is also preferable.
