FindmypastLocation:- Dundee Closing Date:- Sunday 9th December 2018
Findmypast are looking for a collaborative, hands-on Finance Director to play a key role in operations and leadership as they shape the future of one of the world’s leading family history companies. Findmypast has more than 9 billion historical records and 18 million registered users globally, and has helped transform the way people learn about their ancestors. Family history is a high-growth market that is changing quickly, with the introduction of new products and technologies. In this role you will evolve our operations to sit at the heart of our business, and also provide executive leadership in our Dundee location. This role has full responsibility for the finances of the company, including the development of the financial strategy and effective governance over operations, enabling robust management decisions to drive top line revenue and customer growth, profitability and productivity.
This is a key role on the executive team, and the successful candidate will be the senior Findmypast Group executive in our Dundee office. You’ll take a hands-on approach, equally comfortable with crafting strategy, coaching team members, and getting things done. You’ll pattern and expect high performance standards with an emphasis on cash management. As part of the executive team you will take an active interest in understanding the end to end business, the marketplaces in which it operates, and help identify, develop and sponsor strategies and plans to maximise revenue, share and profit growth.
Building a culture of data-driven decision making across the company and in collaboration with colleagues in marketing and product will be a central part of this role. You’ll coach your team in the key SAAS, operational and data pipeline metrics, and help them become trusted business partners, able to create financial models and performance dashboards with quality information that highlights issues and trends and frames product, marketing and data investments and direction.
Strengthening our business intelligence and analytics platforms and skillsets will be important, so that we become adept at using predictive analytical models and data science techniques to make key decisions. With your team you will be responsible for building insightful management accounts, budget and forecasts for the Findmypast Board and DCT Thomson Group. You’ll work with the executive team and shared services to help maximise the effectiveness of operational functions, while managing costs. You’ll consider where internal services will need to scale to meet the growth of the business, and where DC Thomson services can help Findmypast achieve economies of scale.
