Martin Little, Online Editor, The Press and Journal

When did you join the Company?
I joined DC Thomson in February 2014

What’s your role in DC Thomson?
I arrived in the company as Online Editor for The Press and Journal and launched a new website for the publication in May 2014. Since then I have been developing the site to be one of the best in the country and creating a culture of ‘digital first’ around the P&J newsroom.

What makes your working day enjoyable?
The ever changing nature of news, from covering the Charlie Hebdo murders to producing Alex Salmond’s video blog to debating newsworthiness of the days stories, I never know quite what the day is going to bring.

Tell us a little about the part you play in DC Thomson a success?
I ensure The Press and Journal website is kept up-to-date with the best quality content available. This fuels our growing audience on the P&J which will have a high commercial value to DC Thomson for years to come.

What is your highlight of being part of DC Thomson?
I enjoy working with the people around me and the creative freedom that comes with working in an exciting and diverse digital marketplace. There is also nothing better than being recognised by your peers – and winning the DC Thomson Innovation Award has been a real highlight of my career so far.
